If the Search and Retrieve tool (aka F3, under the “Tools” menu) is constantly time-ing out and/or returning an error message, try disabling your VPN –if your machine is using one.
We had the same problem ourselves, and this “No Vpn” solution worked immediately.
RIMMF3 was written before the current VPN craze got underway. We are not sure we can figure out a way to fix this problem.
For a workaround, if you are able to do so, use the suggestion above.

Some VPN services have an option to allow normal access (i.e. not using the VPN) for selected apps–this is the optimum solution if its available. In that case, add the following app to the exception list: C:\Program Files (x86)\TMQ\RIMMF3\rimmf3.exe
