This option allows you to switch to a different database of RIMMF records (e.g., a Demo Data folder).
By default, RIMMF stores the records you make either:
'Change data folder' allows you to switch to a different folder of RIMMF records, temporarily.
This can be useful when you are sharing records–allowing you to view other records without mixing them up with your own.
Go to “How to Change to a different folder of RIMMF records for detailed instructions.
This change persists only for the current session; the next time the program is closed and restarted, RIMMF reverts to the default record storage folder (described in the first paragraph).
We did not implement multi-user support in RIMMF because it is beyond the scope (and a not trivial undertaking) of what we are trying to accomplish.
However, the 'Change data folder' option makes it possible for you to create some RIMMF records on your computer, copy them to a network folder, and then direct your colleagues to this folder so that they can access your records.
Depending on the permissions of the network folder, they may be able to modify the records also. This part is up to you.
