Create New Manifestation Data

• Create a new Manifestation record
  • File
  • New record for … Manifestation
  • Choose an appropriate Manifestation template
  • Add Manifestation data
    • Add all elements needed to identify the manifestation, describe its carrier, and explain how to acquire/access it
    • Add links to data for other, non-primary, related entities, as needed

• Create a new Work record
  • In the newly created Manifestation record, create new Work data

• Link to a new Expression record
  • In the newly created Work record, create new Expression data

• Link to a new Item record
  • Return to the previously created Manifestation record, via the text box for the 'Manifestation Expressed' element (RIMMF automatically linked the Expression data and the Manifestation data, since this was a new Work)
  • Create new Item data

• Find the appropriate Expression data for the work (e.g., using the Entity Index)
• Find the element for 'Manifestation of Expression'
• Right click on the 'RIMMF Identifier' text box
• Choose “Create new Manifestation”
• Choose an appropriate Manifestation template
• Add Manifestation data, as needed
  • Add all necessary elements to identify the manifestation and describe its carrier and how to acquire/access it
  • RIMMF automatically links the Expression data and the Manifestation data through the RIMMF Identifiers in each record for the relevant data
  • Add links to data for other related entities, as needed
