AUTOFILLS IN RIMMF
To save the time of the rimmfer, we have RIMMF autofill the data for certain specified elements, using data already provided in cells for other elements. Some autofills are hardcoded, other can be changed by the rimmfer.
Hardcoded Autofills
These automated fills cannot be changed by the user, but we welcome any suggestions for improvement or for additional places where new fills can be added.
In the Build WEM process
Autofills in the Build WEM process can really help to save inputting time.
In a Work
- Preferred Title for the Work (from Manifestation: Title Proper)
- Variant Title for the Work (from Manifestation: Variant Title)
- Date of Work (from Manifestation: Date of Production or Date of Publication)
- Source Consulted (from Manifestation: Title Proper and Date of Production/Publication)
- Variant Access Points (from: the title portion of a name/title Authorized Access Point for the Work and Variant Titles for the Work, as per 6.27.4)
In an Expression
- Date of Expression (from Work: Date of Work)
- Authorized Access Point (from Work: Authorized Access Point)
- Source Consulted (from Manifestation: Title Proper and Date of Production/Publication)
Customizable Autofills
These automated fills can be changed by the user, using the AAP checkboxes (aka Dave's checkboxes) in the appropriate records.
We welcome any suggestions for additional places where more of these customizable fills can be added.
In a Work
For the Authorized Access Point for the Work, the user indicates the elements that will be added to the Preferred Title for the Work, to uniquely identify that Work (as per 6.27.1 and 6.27.1.9)
- Creator/RIMMF Identifier
- Preferred Title for the Work (checked, by default; must be included)
- Form of Work
- Date of Work
- Place of Origin of the Work
- Other Distinguishing Characteristic of the Work
- Medium of Performance
- Numeric Designation of a Musical Work
- Key
- Signatory to a Treaty, Etc.
In an Expression
For the Authorized Access Point for the Expression, the user indicates the elements that will be added to the Authorized Access Point for the Work (autofilled from the Work record), to uniquely identify that Expression (as per 6.27.3)
- Work Expressed/RIMMF Identifier (checked, by default; must be included)
- Content Type (checked by default)
- Date of Expression
- Language of Expression
- Other Distinguishing Characteristic of the Expression
In a Manifestation
For the Composite Key for the Manifestation, the user indicates the elements that will be added to the Composite Key for the Manifestation, to uniquely identify that Manifestation:
- Title Proper (checked, by default; must be included)
- Parallel Title Proper
- Other Title Information
- Designation of Edition
- Designation of a Named Revision of an Edition
- Numeric and/or Alphabetic Designation of First Issue or Part of Sequence
